May Day March and Rally Event Agenda

Tivoli Fountain on the Capitol Grounds

·       11AM: Volunteers for the event meet onsite at Tivoli Fountain, reviewing the march route, staging signs/banners, etc. 

·       12PM: Rally begins. Chants, sign waving, etc. 

·       12:45PM: March begins from Tivoli Fountain to North Steps of Capitol Building. 

 

Capitol Building North Steps:

·       1PM: Speakers speak on public sector issues for 15 or 20 minutes in front of Capitol Building; photos taken.

·       1:30PM: March resumes, traveling back to Tivoli Fountain. From there, the contingent will move onto Capitol Way and move north up Capitol Way to Sylvester Park (0.5 miles) at a slow pace. 

·       2PM: Expected arrival time for March at Slyvester Park

 

Sylvester Park: Reserved from 1PM to 4PM. 

·       1PM: Organizations with volunteers for tabling will arrive and begin setup. 2 Food trucks will also arrive and prepare for marchers to arrive around 2PM – they will be parked along Washington Street, on the eastern edge of the park. Sound equipment will also be set up at the gazebo/stage area for speeches later in the day. 

·       2PM: March arrives, traveling down Capitol Way and entering the park on the northwest corner. 

·       2PM: Speakers head to the gazebo/stage, with speeches starting around 2-2:10pm. 

o   Speaker from orgs include: 

·       2:45PM: Music and mingling so that people and groups can connect and meet each other. 

·       3PM: Event conclusion. Tablers to break down equipment between 3-4PM. All formal event presence to be gone by 4PM.
